Chima Akenzua is a movement director and physical storyteller working across screen and stage. His practice blends two decades of embodied experience with a clear creative vision to shape physical performance that supports narrative, character, and cinematic tone.
He began his journey in 2003 as one of the UK’s early parkour pioneers, going on to represent the country at the World Parkour Championships where he earned consecutive silver medals in 2007 and 2008. Known for a signature movement language that combines grace, control, and explosive clarity, his work has since expanded into film, television, commercial campaigns, and live performance.
As a movement director, Chima specialises in physical storytelling that serves story and scale. His work includes high impact action, creature movement, stylised tone, and physical preparation for performers. He brings a rare blend of real world physical mastery and practical on set understanding, having supported screen actors and production teams across a wide range of genres and scales.
Chima is also an experienced coach and workshop leader. He has led training for actors, movement creatives, and production teams in the UK and internationally. His teaching informs a rehearsal based approach to movement direction that is grounded in collaboration, precision, and care.
He has worked with global brands including Disney, Apple, Red Bull, Pepsi, and Skoda, and was nominated for Coach of the Year during his time leading the Imperial College London Parkour and Freerun Society.
Chima is currently developing an original movement led television project and is open to collaboration on screen or stage work that prioritises physical storytelling. He is also available for assistant movement director roles and creative movement consultancy.
